She is extremely busy at work and faces many challenges. The Mistress vents all her frustrations on her adopted stepdaughter, who also serves as the maid at home.The adopted stepdaughter is an immigrant with no home of her own. She works for a meager salary, handling all the household chores and also serving as the Mistress?s outlet for frustration.Scene 1: The scene opens with the Mistress dressed in her white-collar attire, holding a stylish handbag, looking serious. The adopted stepdaughter, hearing the door open, immediately kneels to welcome the Mistress home – a daily rule imposed by the Mistress. But today, the Mistress, preoccupied with work, forgets this rule and gets angry seeing her stepdaughter kneeling. The Mistress berates her: ?What are you doing here, you fool? Is the cleaning done? Seeing you just annoys me!?. She then slaps the stepdaughter twice hardly and loudly. The stepdaughter, looking aggrieved, does not dare to resist and apologizes.
